Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • pinch of salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 ° F. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and poppy seeds.
  3. In a large mixing bowl combine eggs, milk, oil, and extracts. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir to combine well.
  4. Pour batter into bundt pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  5. Let the cake cool for 15-20 minutes and then invert it on a plate.

For the Glaze

  1. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, almond extract, and salt.
  2. Drizzle glaze over the top of the cake and let it cool completely.
