Mexican Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

  • 2 packets of your favorite instant hot cocoa mix
  • 2 cups of water or milk
  • 3 ounces cocoa cafe tequila (we used Patron) or other alcohol of your choice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne

Tools

  • Small pot
  • Spoon
  • Stove
  • 1-2 insulated mugs

Method

  1. Heat water or milk just to a boil in a pot. Remove from heat.
  2. Pour a hot cocoa mix into each mug, and slowly pour in half of the hot water or milk into each. Stir to fully combine.
  3. Add tequila. If you have an airplane bottle like I did, pour half into each mug.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon and cayenne on top of each.
  5. Enjoy now, or later if you’ve got the ability.

*I have a 20 ounce insulated mug with a lid that I use, so I make this whole recipe as one big mug, and share it.
